ENGAGEMENT
Here is a brief snapshot of post & account engagement. I always take proactive steps with each post to boost engagement to reach a wider audience. As a church Social Media Manager, I approach every detail of the account with the idea that "the front door of your church is no longer physical". These inspiring words are what drive me to work diligently in staying on top of trends and crafting clean designs.
WEB & APP DESIGN

This is one project that I really enjoyed crafting because it was inspired by Marlene, a woman very dear to me. I selected each color as a variation of the colors in the Brazilian flag and the tone of the website as a whole was made to embody the bold and playful spirit of Marlene.
A challenge that came with this design was trying to design both a full screen web version and a small screen mobile version. The mobile webpage includes both vertical and horizontal scrolling for specific elements like the weekly specials menu.

I loved designing this app prototype! My love for travel really got to shine when creating PlannyPack. This project was probably my biggest challenge yet because I was tasked with coming up with my own unique idea, drafting a layout, and crafting all of the components and pages myself in my first year as an Interactive Design student.

In this call-to-action pop-up, I was tasked with designing a clean and easy to use Insider Access user information card. This design was made in Figma using components, variants, and brand semantics.

This is where it all started for me. Physical mediums will always have a special place in my heart despite the majority of my work being digital these days. Nothing beats hand-mixing colors and the feeling of a brush as it glides across the canvas. I hope you enjoy looking at my work as much as I enjoyed making it.
FINE ART
Drawing & Painting: Various Mediums

Human subjects have always been the inspiration of my art. There is just something so incredibly captivating about people. All of their features so uniquely their own and all of their emotions and experiences that deepen each of their lives. Though my works are flat, two-dimensional images, I believe the subjects add their own depth to my work.

ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Megan Powell and I am currently studying Interactive Design at Kennesaw State University. As a student designer, I am continuously updating my knowledge and fine-tuning my skills. I began my college journey on a later foot than most of my peers. I spent 3 years working & traveling as I sought to establish who I was before declaring what I'd do. During that time, my proudest and most exciting moment was spent teaching ESL Art classes to elementary school students in Moscow, Russia. Despite my love of art, I started considering other career paths when I returned to the States. When I finally started college in Fall 2021, I was a Business Marketing major at University of North Georgia where I later switched to Graphic Design (a creative medium I never thought I'd pick up). While studying Graphic Design, I discovered UI/UX design which set a fire within me. I was more excited than ever because my future finally felt like it had purpose.
After learning about UI/UX design, I transferred to KSU where I am now studying more than just art - I am studying human computer interactions and how to integrate my creativity into both digital designs and user research. I am beyond excited to finally get started as a UI/UX Designer and to further develop my skills through real-world work experience.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my work and to learn a little about what makes me Me.
